King Charles Displays Pictures Of Prince Harry And Meghan Markle’s Family In His Home Despite Harry’s ‘Calculated’ Move To Keep Him From Seeing His Grandchildren

King Charles‘ ongoing efforts to mend his strained relationship with Prince Harry appear to be unfolding quietly behind palace walls. And while very few people truly know where things currently stand between father and son, one thing is undeniable: the King’s affection for his youngest child and his grandchildren remains as strong as ever, regardless of everything that has happened in recent years.

The monarch, 76, has reportedly expressed sadness over how rarely he sees grandchildren Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who have spent their lives thousands of miles away in Montecito, California, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

But despite his wish to spend time with them, Prince Harry has made it clear that his wife and children won’t be traveling to the U.K. anytime soon due to ongoing security concerns. This has understandably left the King heartbroken – but it seemingly isn’t stopping him from proudly displaying their pictures!

King Charles Proudly Displays Pictures Of The Sussexes

Despite the tension of recent years – including Prince Harry's bombshell memoir Spare and a string of public criticisms of the royal family in interviews – King Charles is seemingly not giving up on his youngest son or his grandchildren.

According to The Mirror, framed photographs of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their two children are proudly displayed inside Hillsborough Castle, the King's official residence in Northern Ireland.

A palace insider told the outlet that decisions about which family photos to display fall to Historic Royal Palaces, though the final say rests with the monarch himself. "Royal Historic Palaces make decisions on what they believe to be appropriate," the source said. "They are also guided by members of the royal family, but the decision over what pictures of the family to use ultimately lies with the King."

It's also been reported that Prince Harry gifted his father new family photographs during his brief visit to the U.K. last month, when the two had tea together at Clarence House. Whether those pictures have also found a place in Hillsborough Castle or the King's other homes currently remains unknown.

Prince Harry Previously Tried To Use His Children To Bribe King Charles

The revelation comes following previous reports that Prince Harry has tried to use his children as leverage in ongoing disputes with his father about private security.

According to RadarOnline, palace insiders alleged that King Charles was "furious" over what he considered a "calculated tactic" by Prince Harry to get his way on private security, among other demands.

"Charles has described this privately as 'bribery in all but name,'" one insider reportedly said earlier this year, adding: "Withholding his access to his grandchildren as he fights cancer is just disgusting in his view, and has ruined any chances Harry had of a reconciliation with the royals."

A senior courtier went on: "There's a firm sense inside the Palace that the Duke has crossed a line. The suggestion that time with the children might be contingent on security funding was seen as appalling."
