Martha Stewart Shades Meghan Markle

Speaking to Yahoo News Australia, Martha Stewart, 83, share her thoughts on the new generation of lifestyle icons. "I don't mind," she said of the new wave. "Good luck."

On Gwyneth, specifically, Martha added, "Gwyneth's been very successful, by the way. She created quite an interesting body of businesses. She's admired. She won an Oscar, for heaven’s sake, as an actress! She's pretty powerful!"

And on Meghan: "Meghan, I don't know very well, and I hope she knows what she's talking about," Martha said when asked about her thoughts on Meghan Markle as a celebrity influencer. "Authenticity, to me, is everything, and to be authentic and knowledgeable about your subject matter is extremely important."

Was there a little shade embedded in Martha's statement on Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand? Probably. Did fans absolutely interpret it as shady? Absolutely. "Our queen has spoken," one person commented on Instagram.
