Meghan Markle Wears Oversized Trench Coat To Sundance Film Festival
The As Ever founder, 44, attended the festival to promote the Cookie Queens documentary, directed by Alysa Nahmias and produced by herself and Prince Harry, about Girl Scout cookies.
"Yes, it's probably the cutest film at the festival," the mom-of-two reportedly said at the festival, adding: "But I'm also going to go out on a limb and say it's one of the most powerful and meaningful depictions of an American tradition."
The With Love, Meghan star wore a navy Heidi Merrick oversized floor-length trench coat – it's the Fog Coat in the Deep Sea color, and currently retails for $1,275, FYI – teamed with black Veronica Beard skinny flared jeans and a beige Brochu Walker cashmere jumper underneath.
She finished the look off with some black suede pointed toe Manolo Blahnik heels. Her dark hair was styled in a sleek low pony, which expertly showed off her elegant stud earrings, while her makeup was kept natural and understated.
Social Media Reactions
Meghan's look divided social media, with many people deeming the look ill-fitting, unflattering, and not weather-appropriate. However, not everyone felt the same way, as others rushed to her defense and praised the look!
"Get a stylist sweetie," slammed one Instagram user who was not a fan of the look. "Guaranteed the only person walking the streets in a trench coat. She always gets it wrong just like Patrizia Reggiani," echoed a second.
"The low will be 10F & feel like 5F. Markle looks perfectly ridiculous," quipped a third, as a fourth asked: "Did she borrow that coat from someone twice her size?"
Others focused less on the outfit and more on the couple's presence at the festival, given their ongoing complaints about media intrusion, with a fifth asking: "Wasn't he just whinging in court about media intrusion literally days ago?" "So much for privacy," commented a sixth. "Sundance is definitely where one goes when they want their precious privacy," joked a seventh, followed by the crying laughing emoji.
It wasn't all negative, though! "My god, she's beautiful," wrote an eighth fan, as a ninth approving fan chimed in: "Stunning really." "They look gorgeous," gushed a tenth, followed by the heart eyes emoji, as an eleventh concurred: " They look so beautiful and healthy."
