Meghan Markle is the epitome of classic beauty–seriously, could she get any prettier? When the former actress marries Prince Harry on May 19 at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, all eyes will be on the Duchess-of-Sussex to be (which is the number one prediction of her new title).
There’s no doubt she will look stunning, but she’s keeping pretty quiet about specifics. All of the many details about Meghan Markle’s wedding gown, wedding hairstyle, wedding heels, tiara, and even who she will choose as her maid or matron of honor are under tight wraps.
But what we do have at this point are clues–including a few hints about what to expect when it comes to Meghan Markle’s royal wedding day makeup.
Meghan Markle’s Bridal Makeup Look
Many brides choose a fancified version of their everyday makeup look on their big day, with the goal being NOT to look like a completely different person, but like a glowing version of their beautiful selves. With that in mind, two big-time makeup artists weighed in on their predictions of Meghan’s wedding makeup look.
Expect Meghan’s Skin To Take Centerstage
Most of us were glued to our computers when a 2016 video recently surfaced showing Meghan Markle and makeup artist Bobbi Brown in the back of an Uber, where the former Suits actress applied her makeup in a short tutorial for all of the world to see. The outcome was glowing skin and a natural peach blush on the bride-to-be.
Since the second Meghan and Harry announced their engagement, the most famous makeup artists on the planet have been lining up and vying for the chance to beautify one of the most famous brides of the decade on her royal wedding day.
The world has yet to discover who Meghan ultimately chose as her wedding makeup artist, but some other big names in the beauty world have thoughts about how Meghan will look when she walks down the aisle.
"Her beautiful skin will be, undoubtedly, flawless and I would imagine she’ll probably wash over her freckles with a light foundation and use concealer under the eyes ensuring the skin stays glowy but not shiny," Tracey Gray Mann, makeup artist for Vera Wang bridal told Hello!. "She may use a skin brightener underneath or mixed with the foundation and a translucent powder on the t-zone to avoid shine in photographs.”
Mann even offered up product suggestions for Meghan’s radiant wedding day skin.
Makeup Products That Meghan Markle’s Might Wear On Her Wedding Day
In order to achieve the Meghan Markle sparkle, Mann suggests five products:
"To capture the glow of perfect skin I would use Armani Luminous Silk – oil-free fluid foundation. Concealer would be YSL Touche Eclat Radiant Touch Highlighting Pen,” Mann said. “The tiny light particles create a healthy natural glow and photograph well. Chanel nude kohl eyeliner in the waterline to give the appearance of wider, fuller and more awake eyes. ByTerry lip liner in perfect nude or rose contour all over the lips for definition, and a touch of Dior’s lipglow in pink or berry, a light reflecting lip balm.”
Pinks And Nude Colors Will Reign Supreme
Even though Meghan has more freedom in her wedding day look than most other royals, that doesn’t mean we’re going to see her rock dramatic glitter eyeshadow or glossy red lips, neither of which accurately reflects the future royal’s style.
British bridal designer Caroline Castigliano told MarieClaire that she thinks Meghan’s natural look will include a soft pink lip (Charlotte Tilbury’s Matte Revolution in Very Victoria is a favorite) and serve as an inspiration for whichever lucky makeup artist she chose to create her look that day.
“I think she'll have a very natural look,” Castigliano told MarieClaire. “I love her ‘nude’ look myself, but I think that she'll go with something slightly softer and pinker—something that's slightly more classic for a bride.”
