ICYMI: Nike might have just revolutionized the running sneaker–again. The brand just launched the “light as air” Epic React Flyknit Running Shoe this week, and the response so far is overwhelming: this is the sneaker of the future.
Created in response to customer’s demand for more supportive and durable shoes, the sneaker’s fabrication and fit are bar none. If you’re a serious (or not-so-serious) runner who’s been looking for a lighter, more superior sneaker–this is it.
“Runners asked for one shoe that could do it all: offer more cushion from the impact of each stride, give them the energy return needed to stay fresh late in a run, feel light underfoot and also be able to withstand wear and tear of impact and elements run after run,” said Nike in their news release.
Wearing the Epic React Flyknit shoe is meant to feel like your running on air. The running shoes are made from a fabric that is supposed to resemble the fit of a sock on your foot. The material is lightweight, stretchy, breathable, and supportive–the ingredients for the perfect running sneaker.
The sneaker provides insane comfort that is promised to last the entire duration of your run. The Nike React foam cushioning is the first of its kind to be used in the brand’s sneaker and is designed to respond to your foot to offer the support you need during your run. “Because Nike React foam is significantly softer than EVA-based foams of the past, it smooths bumps in the road more effectively — but the midsole had to be taller in order to avoid “bottoming-out” and wider to give runners a supportive base,” said Nike.
Did we mention the Nike Epic React Flyknit running shoe is also really cute? It comes in a variety of different colors and is already sold out in the white option. You can get them on Nike.com for $150.
