North West appears to be following in her father Kanye West’s musical footsteps.

In a snippet shared to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, the 12-year-old can be heard rapping about her love for tattoos, piercings, and—more controversially—skipping school. The audio comes from a new collaboration with her dad titled “Piercing on My Hand (Ye’s Version).”

In the track, North delivers bold lyrics, rapping, “Piercing on my hand, the other holding bands,” and “No friends, just filter, you wouldn’t understand.”

She continues with lines that have sparked conversation online, including, “Went to school for two days, then I got banned/Skipping school, yeah, I do it on the daily,” followed by, “Got some new rings, yeah, they’re so crazy.”

Other lyrics touch on confidence and self-expression, with North adding, “All my friends are hits, you know I’m not lazy/You’re so angry that I’m so mainstream.”

She wraps up the verse by leaning into her edgy aesthetic, rapping, “I’m not sure I’m crazy/I want more piercings and tats/I love blue hair; put it in some plaits/Put the music to the max/I want like a hundred thousand racks.”

The track appears to address recent backlash over North wearing a dermal finger piercing. She previously gave fans a glimpse of her second dermal piercing on her Instagram Stories—after debuting her first on her middle finger, she has now added another on her index finger near the knuckle.

The lyrics also seem to reference other headline-making choices, including North sporting long, bright blue hair for several months, wearing fake face tattoos, and even hinting that she may have been banned from school.

Notably, around the same time the song surfaced, Kim Kardashian revealed on Khloé’s podcast that North is currently being homeschooled.

On the latest episode of Khloé in Wonderland, the Skims mogul opened up about the backlash her oldest daughter has faced as she continues to grow up in the public eye. “She really is who she is and always has been that girl, and so, I nurture her.”

The mother of four explained that North is currently homeschooled and that she plays a very hands-on role in her education. “She is homeschooled, and a lot of it is me helping her do a lot of the teachings and the things that we do, a lot of realistic courses, things that she’s really into,” she shared. “Math. We’ll give budgets, and we’ll go around, we’ll get stuff, and we’ll add it all up and subtract it all. She has a brand-building class; it’s an actual course and a curriculum, fully interactive learning.”

She also revealed that one of North’s courses was created around her interest in jewelry and crafts. “We made it a course, and she has to do the web design, and she has to do the budgeting, and she has to go to the stores and get materials and sewing,” Kim continued. “We do full fashion courses. She goes, in the summers too, to FIT in New York and goes to fashion camp. She loves these more interactive experiences, and so, I nurture her. It’s a full-time job even for me and her teacher. I think people don’t realize that I’m with her and the kids 24/7.”

Kim has been accused of being an "absentee parent," but she shut those rumors down by adding: “I took the last six months off to be able to really do her courses and get the curriculum from her teachers and be there in the room with her,” she said. “It’s been a lot, and it’s been so fun to see her blossom and even, like, her music course at school… She’d do a regular music course and learn certain things. But at home, she’ll do an eight-hour music studio session where she’s producing and writing.”
