Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are extremely busy finalizing all of the details for their royal wedding that’s coming up in May 2018. Earlier this week, The Palace announced their pastry chef of choice and wedding cake selection. Today, they shared a glimpse of the royal wedding invitations!
This royal nuptial is already one for the books, with Prince Harry and Ms. Markle going against royal protocol and breaking a lot of old traditions. However, when it came to the creation of their wedding invites, it doesn’t seem like the couple had much choice in the design. They’re pretty standard.

The invitations are printed on neutral paper with the wedding details in a black script font and the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales printed in gold ink at the top.
The Kensington Palace released a photo and details about the stationary in a series of tweets on their Twitter account this morning.
Accompanying the photo of the royal wedding invitations was a detailed process as to how the invitations are handmade. Including a video of the printing process.
“Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship, printed all of the invitations in a process known as die stamping, on a machine from the 1930s that she affectionately nicknamed Maude. Using American ink on English card, the invitations are printed in gold and black, then burnished to bring out the shine, and gilded around the edge.” said The Palace.
The invitations were made by Barnard Westwood, a London-based fine printers and bookbinders company. They have been making the royal invitations since 1985.
