Prince William 'Caves' Into Meeting Prince Harry
Back in October, Prince William appeared on Eugene Levy's AppleTV+ series, The Reluctant. Traveler, and actually mentioned for the first time in a very long time. He spoke about the changes he hopes to make when he's king: "I hope we don't go back to some of the practices in the past Harry and I had to grow up with," he said. "I'll do everything I can to make sure we don't regress in that situation."
Sources speaking to RadarOnline.com are saying that this wasn't just a passing comment, rather it was an "olive branch" that signifies William has "finally caved" to pressure to meet with his estranged younger brother. "[William] is finally coming around to the idea of truce talks," the source explained.
In typical William fashion, this will be anything but casual. "There's no way he's willing to pick up the phone and do this casually," the insider added. "[The meeting] would need to be a supervised discussion, handled with total discretion."
Pressure From Family
So why the sudden change of heart? Apparently, it's because of his wife, Princess Catherine, and his father, King Charles, with RadarOnline.com reporting that they've been pushing for William to reconcile with Harry for a while now. "There's only so much resistance he can put up against his own wife and father, who are telling him in no uncertain terms that enough is enough, and it's high time for peace."
Royal insider Ian Pelham Turner shared his thoughts on the matter: "My feeling at the moment is because of Charles' cancer diagnosis and that all these negotiations perhaps, for example, with Harry have been accelerated," he says. "So I think why all of this has happened now is that William has been placated about Harry coming back into the fold by getting rid of Andrew. There seems to be accelerations at the moment. One acceleration is bringing Harry back. And the second acceleration is getting rid of Andrew."
