Rosie O’Donnell has recently shared that she has relocated from the United States.

In a TikTok video uploaded earlier this week, the comedian, 62, revealed that she and her 12-year-old child, Clay, moved to Ireland on January 15. This announcement came just four days after she hinted at living overseas in an Instagram post.

As O’Donnell told fans and TikTok followers regarding her big move, “It’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming. And I’m very grateful.”

The talk show host also mentioned that she is currently working on obtaining Irish citizenship, citing her grandparents' origins from Ireland as a key factor. She then elaborated on the motivations driving her decision to pursue this new chapter in her life.

O'Donnell explained, "I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that's what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year-old child. And here we are."

She continued, "You know, I'm happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends. I miss many things about life there at home and I'm trying to find a home here in this beautiful country and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that's when we will consider coming back."

In her video, the Emmy winner appeared to allude to the various transformations the nation has undergone since President Donald Trump assumed office on January 20th.

O'Donnell highlighted how these shifts have influenced the country's landscape, both politically and socially, drawing attention to the significant developments that have unfolded during his administration.

She went on, "It's been heartbreaking to see what's happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know." O'Donnell shared that the people of Dublin, where she now resides, have shown her remarkable kindness.

Over the course of nearly two months since her relocation, she has connected with numerous fans. However, she felt it was important to update her followers, expressing her regret for causing any concern or for being missed by those who care about her.

"I just felt like we needed to take care of ourselves and make some hard decisions and follow through. And now as we're getting settled, I was ready to post this and to tell everybody what's been going on," she said.
