Sabrina Carpenter’s career has skyrocketed over the last two years, and people have loved her fearless and sultry aesthetic. However, her latest nearly-bare Rolling Stone cover and latest album theme have fans wondering if she’s taken things too far.

The singer-songwriter is the music publication’s cover star for their double summer issue and posed for a scandalous front-page photo where she’s nearly naked, wearing only stockings. While her fans may believe she looks beautiful in the picture, others think the pop star’s taken her R-rated content too far, given she was also criticized for her new raunchy album cover. Read more about her latest bold photo below.

Sabrina Carpenter Poses Nearly Nude For 'Rolling Stone' Cover Story

The "Espresso" vocalist was recently announced as this year's Rolling Stone summer double issue cover star, where she gave an in-depth profile interview and had an elaborate photoshoot to go with her story. In her big cover photo, she posed wearing nothing but sheer white thigh-high stockings.

In the sultry photo, the star can be seen kneeling down on what looks like a dressing room floor, with her hands clutching and protecting her chest, with her signature long, blonde locks covering the rest of her body. She wore dramatic, glamorous makeup with large flash lashes that made her bright blue eyes pop.

When the cover was shared on social media, fans took a moment to point out how "gorgeous" she looked on platforms like Instagram.

"Finally blessed with a hot pop star," wrote an Instagram user.

"Cannot handle," added another.

"Goddess," wrote another.

However, numerous comments were written by disappointed or disapproving fans and Instagram users, who felt that the scandalous image was yet another example of the singer putting out what they believe is too much explicit content.

Sabrina Is Called Out For Her Upcoming Album Cover And Latest Photoshoot

Part of the 26-year-old's brand is her willingness to be more provocative, writing lyrics and doing dances that are a bit more raunchy or suggestive than the average pop star while still being appropriate enough to be played on the radio and broadcasted at awards shows.

While part of her act pushes some boundaries, many believe she's crossing one, given her latest magazine cover and the artwork for her upcoming album. Around the time her Rolling Stone story came out, the Disney alum announced her seventh studio album, Man's Best Friend, which is set to be released on August 29th. With the announcement came her album cover reveal, where she can be seen kneeling down in front of a man who is gripping her blonde hair with one hand. The cover caused a considerable stir online, as many found it to be "inappropriate" and offensive rather than empowering.

"Grossing me out," commented an Instagram user under her album announcement post.

"This cover makes me uncomfortable, especially in times like these," added another.

"Absolutely tone deaf."

"This album cover is disgusting," commented an angry user. "Let's do better."

So, when people saw that Sabrina continued to post more provocative photos via her Rolling Stone shoot, they couldn't help but point out her pattern.

"Why Sabrina, why?" asked a fan on the publication's Instagram.

"This new [direction] doesn't feel empowering," added a fan. "It feels desperate."
