Sarah Jessica Parker‘s Sex and the City days may be behind her, but she’s weighing in on one of the show’s most controversial moments.
The actress took to Instagram to set the record on the outfit that she wore in season three, episode 13 that has been a "hot issue" for fans, according to Vogue.
In the episode, Parker's character, Carrie, rocks a pair of mismatched Christian Louboutin sandals during her trip to Los Angeles with pals Miranda and Samantha.
Loyal SATC watchers have wondered if the designer metallic red and teal sandal pairing was intentional or improvised since the episode aired, and now SJP is finally giving them some clarity.
"Here is the official answer and I am sure approved by the great and legendary Patrica Field," Parker responded to the fan account @everyoutfitonsatc on Instagram after it shared a screen grab of the outfit and reignited the debate on social media. "We had 2 pairs of what I believe are @louboutinworld scrappy sandals. Pat and I chose to do 1 of each. Perhaps because both were so delicious in color and seemed in harmony with the dress but also because we simply loved doing 1 of each."
Sex and the City costume designer Patricia Field also chimed in and echoed Parker's response.
"@sarahjessicaparker and I decided to use one of each because we could not choose which one was best and they were both perfect with the dress. I see you guys have a microscopic view of everything #SATC and I'm happy for it. - Patricia Field," she commented.
