Starbucks Just Made A Huge Announcement–Employees Are Going To Be FURIOUS!

Although the retail trend during COVID-19 has been to close stores–ie. Walmart’s unprecedented decision to close for Thanksgiving–Starbucks seems to be bucking that trend and just announced that it will be open on Labor Day this year!

The coffee chain’s decision to stay open on a federal holiday meant to honor laborers (ahem) has many workers up in arms. Here’s everything we know so far:

MSN confirmed that most Starbucks locations will be open on Labor Day this year, which falls on Monday, September 7th. Hours and availability will vary by location, but most standalone locations will have their doors open on the national holiday. Yikes!

As always, our thoughts are with these frontline workers who have risked their safety every day to keep us caffeinated during the crisis! We can't thank you enough.

On a positive note, fans of the cult Pumpkin Spice Latte were happy to learn that the drink is alleged to be hitting menus on August 28th.

Bustle reported that on a California Starbucks location leaked the news on Instagram--although the company has not confirmed and the post has since been deleted. PSL drama!

Since Labor Day is late this year, fans of the PSL were happy to learn that they may not have to wait another week into September to enjoy their favorite drink. See--it's not ALL bad!
