1. Instagram
Although there are many people who feel like they can't live without Instagram, if you can, then it might not be a bad idea to get it off your phone, as it not only can take up a lot of storage, but it can also drain your battery, as there's often a lot going on in the background.
"Instagram stores loads of photos and videos to keep your feed smooth, but cached data builds up until you're suddenly out of space," says Steven Athwal, tech expert and founder of the Big Phone Store. "A quick reinstall usually clears the bulk of it; you may also be able to do it in settings."
2. Complex Gaming Apps
Like Instagram, there are a lot of Apple users who can't get through a day or fall asleep without playing a couple rounds of their favorite gaming app. However, it's also easy to download a bunch of these apps and forget about them over time as you move on to another game or simply stop playing them, causing them to eat up storage.
"High-performance games with complex graphics and demanding processing requirements can put a strain on your iPhone's resources, resulting in slower performance, says tech expert Drew Romero from tkxel.com. "Removing resource-intensive games or limiting gaming sessions can help optimize your device's speed."
3. TikTok
TikTok is another storage-eating app that has many of us addicted to it these days, scrolling nonstop through entertaining videos. If you're looking to do a little social media cleanse and spend less time on your phone, as well as free up some storage, tech experts say TikTok would be a wise app to delete.
"TikTok does the same thing [as Instagram] on an even bigger scale," explains Athwal. "Every clip you watch, every draft you make is saved locally."
