Not to brag, but I am kind of an eyeliner pro, which is why I want to share the 5 types of liner every girl needs to have in her makeup bag. Click through the slideshow to see my picks.
A Basic Black
A tried-and-true black liner will never fail you. Whether it's for a cat eye or for a touch of smolder, there's a reason that black liner has been a must-have for your makeup bag for decades. Try the Tom Ford dual-ended liner for a wing like you've never seen before.
A Soft Gray
A soft dove gray eyeliner will work as a lovely substitute to a basic black liner. It's way less pronounced than a jet-black wing, yet not quite as neutral as a brown. Try NARS Eyeliner Stylo in Koala for a soft (yet statement-making) look.
A Bright Hue
A bright liner--I personally love blue, because it creates such a wonderful contrast against my blonde hair--looks stunning as a substitute to a quintessential jet black wing. I love the Dolce & Gabbana true peacock blue--the formula is buttery beyond belief, and that color truly speaks for itself.
A Metallic Liner
A metallic liner isn't just perfect to accent a cat-eye for a night out. Try a metallic wing for work to spice things up a bit. I personally love the gunmetal shade in the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill range--Perla Nera.
A Pearly Beige
A shimmery champagne/beige on your waterline will not only brighten up your eyes, but they'll make you look like you spent last night firmly asleep--and not partying 'til dawn. Try SEPHORA Contour Eye Pencil in Blonde Ambition for your fix.
