We just learned that the goop founder always takes a bath before she goes to bed–an Epsom salt bath!
“I take an Epsom salt bath every night to wind down,” Paltrow told ELLE. “I use a lot of organic essential oils on my pressure points.”
Epsom salt baths are great for the body and mind. They’re commonly used as at-home remedies to heal pain and swelling, sore muscles after working out, psoriasis, and sunburn and redness. Epsom salt breaks down into magnesium and sulfate in the water, which then is believed to get absorbed into your skin to help relax your muscles and heal your skin.
Taking a bath before bed will help you get a good night’s sleep, which will then help you wake up without under-eye bags, dark circles, and skin puffiness. Gwyneth is definitely onto something!
