There are a lot of anxieties that surround your wedding day, but you shouldn't let the weather be one of them. While we'd all love a sunny day filled with nothing but happiness, the weather is out of every bride's control. That's why you shouldn't worry if it ends up raining on your big day. Here are five tips you can keep in mind if it's drizzling on the morning of your wedding.
Check In With Guests
One of the first things you should do is call your family that are still home on the morning of your wedding. You should check to see how the rain may delay their traveling plans or appointments, and let them know of any of your own scheduling changes. Plus, talking to them may ease your weather woes and serve as a reminder that you should be nothing but happy on your wedding day.
Call Your Vendors
Next, you should call your vendors. Bad weather means rainy slick roads, and rainy roads can mean lots of traffic. However, your wedding vendors have done plenty of weddings before, even in the rain, so they can assure you that your day will still be picture perfect-- and that a little rain never hurt anyone. You'll be sure to feel more calm after checking in with both your family and those that are running your wedding.
Switch Up Your Hair
You should also think twice about the hairstyle that you were going to go with for your special ceremony. Think of ways you can prevent visibly frizzy hair in your wedding photos. Perhaps stick with an updo since long loose curls may be more likely to lose their hold after accidentally getting wet in the rain.
Find An Umbrella Stat
Always pack an umbrella for your wedding, even if you're not necessarily expecting rain. You never know how the weather may change, and you'll seriously thank yourself when you have one to grab on your way out the door. Of course, a family member or bridesmaid can have the duty of holding the umbrella over your head to make sure your hair and dress don't get ruined in the rain.
Enjoy Your Day & Relax
Last but not least, make sure to relax on your wedding day even if it's raining outside. Who knows, the rain may pass after drizzling for awhile in the morning. There's really no need to worry about it. Plus, a rainy wedding day can provide some unique shots for your photographers, and it even signifies good luck for your wedding day!
