Weight Loss Benefits Of Kombucha Tea

Kombucha contains four simple, but unlikely ingredients: black or green tea, bacteria, yeast and sugar. The raw, organic version of kombucha tea is unpasteurized and tastes like vinegar. As we know from the countless Kombucha Girl memes, this drink has a surprising, sour-earthy flavor that can be unappetizing to beginners at first (and the smell may be even worse!). But, according to leading health experts, this is one acquired taste that you might want to get used to.

In addition to the weight loss benefits we will outline below, it contains health-boosting ingredients like antioxidants, B vitamins, probiotics, enzymes, glucosamine, and other acids. It has been shown in animal studies to reduce liver toxicity and decrease the risk of heart disease. Doctors have since verified the weight loss benefits. Due to the green tea it contains, kombucha can increase the number of calories you burn, reduce belly fat, improve cholesterol levels, help with blood sugar control.

But that's not all. "Kombucha is fermented so it is packed with good probiotics," Dr. Amy Lee, Head of Nutrition for Nucific tells us. "When taken consistently, it could replace some of the bad strains that causes cravings and hunger which can help with how we stay compliant with certain foods as well. This "could make an impact on metabolism and help you burn more calories throughout the day," she explains.

Kombucha also contains a very low number of calories, but also creates a feeling of fullness (thanks to the phenolic and polyphenolic compounds it contains).
