My intrepid fashionista at large wrote me with this nugget: “went to the coolest store at Garden State Plaza in NJ called ‘Ruehl’ it’s owned by Abercrombie and Fitch but is edgy and dressier and for an older shopper….I LOVED their clothes!!!! Lots of Gucci knock-offs.”
Personally I won’t venture into the ‘burbs for anything that isn’t a family obligation, but if you are in mall country you should know about ‘Ruehl’. This is Abercrombie’s attempt (apparently successful) to reach a more sophisticated shopper. The store fa?ade looks like a brick townhouse, with a sidewalk in front. Many of Ruehl’s jean styles are named after Greenwich Village streets, such as Barrow, Waverly and Jane. So when are they coming to NYC???
