Design Student Uses Fake Nails As Her Muse And Her Textile For Final Project
July 6, 2015
A graduate from Central Saint Martins in London, Anna Goswami, takes the love of nail art to a whole new level. For her final fashion design project, she decided to make dresses inspired by 70s photography and used fake nails as her “fabric” of choice.
She said to Mashable, “I’m a nail art obsessive and have always been a fan of beading and heavily embellished fabrications, so I just put the two together and decided to use false nails as my beads.” Goswami even hand-painted every fake nail used to create her looks.
Her designs feature tunics, short dresses and long gowns. It’s no surprise these designs are visually stunning and unique, as Goswami follows in the footsteps of CSM-alumni Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Riccardo Tisci and others.
