Wellness Wednesday: Increase Your Daily Water Intake With These Delicious Detox Water Recipes

Detox waters are a great way to make water even healthier. Just a simple squeeze of lemon or lime can add essential vitamins and flavor. And if you don’t drink enough water, these recipes could also help you consume more throughout the day; yes, they’re that tasty. The best part? They are super easy to make! Try drinking at least 2-3 glasses a day to see maximum results.

– Lemon water: This is the simplest detox water to make since it only requires one ingredient. Simply squeeze one lemon into your water and you are good to go. Drinking lemon water not only helps digestion, but it also helps with weight loss, healthier skin and improving your immune system.

– Strawberry + cucumber water: In a pitcher of water, add sliced cucumbers and rosemary. Then, add strawberry and lemon wedges. Make sure to let this sit for at least 2 hours before drinking to allow the ingredients to infuse. Not only are the strawberries packed with nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants, but the cucumbers will help your body flush out toxins.

– Pineapple + lime water: Simply add lemon and pineapple wedges, some fresh parsley leaves and squeeze two limes for a metabolism-boosting drink. The iodine in the pineapple is thyroid-friendly while the lime reduces the risk of heart disease, inflammation and blood sugar.

– Ginger + mint water: For this powerful water, add sliced cucumbers, crushed ginger, 2 lemon wedges and fresh mint leaves to a pitcher of water. The mint will naturally sweeten the drink while the ginger works to lower blood sugar, treat chronic indigestion and lowers cholesterol.
