Would You Share Your Positive Pregnancy Test Results with the World?
April 15, 2011
Have you heard of these WombTube videos? Okay, brace yourself. There was a segment on them on the TODAY Show this morning and they’re basically videos in which women take and review the results of their at-home pregnancy tests. On YouTube. Here’s just one of the many, many WombTube videos posted on YouTube:
Kinda weird, right? Okay maybe it’s just me then. I get that we’re all excited to get pregnant, but taking the pregnancy test on camera and then posting the video online? That’s like the definition of TMI if you ask me.
I just got used to the idea of women posting their positive pee sticks on Facebook as a way to announce their pregnancy, but I’m so not ready to see these WombTube videos pop up in my news feed. As is, they’re a bit hidden on YouTube and I think that’s right where they belong.
Remember when e.p.t. came out with those pregnancy test keepsake cases last year? I still think those are kind of crazy, too, but I’d rather you savor the memory in the privacy of your own home than post a video of you peeing on a stick for me to accidentally stumble upon any day.
What about you? Did you document your positive pregnancy test results on camera? Would you? If so, would you post the video on YouTube for the world to see? Share your thoughts in the comments.
