When you’ve got Oprah in your corner, you know you’ve got a pretty good thing going. That’s why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Oprah fave Tracy Reese is on top of the fashion world right now. But her high falutin’ connections aren’t the only things that are getting Reese noticed. The bright colors, bold patterns and chic, ultrafeminine flair that characterize all of her designs are making standout statements for Reese’s namesake line and her second line, Plenty.

The Detroit native and Parsons School of Design graduate specializes in fanciful creations that are the ultimate in girliness. In her eponymous Spring 2007 line, look for lots of eyelets and neutral tones played up with bright, tiered silk pieces in salmon, mustard yellow, and vibrant magenta. Plenty’s spring line features tons of full skirts, big, bold checks, and whimsical jumpsuits. Be forewarned: Reese’s pieces aren’t for the faint of heart. The length of her shimmery shift ($550) and the bold “take me out to tango” sophistication of her Georgette Frockicon ($485) are enough to get pulses pounding.
