Dita Von Teese’s New Dress Collection Is For Keeping On, Not Taking Off

December 10, 2012 by Justine Schwartz

Though she’s known for being the world’s most famous modern-day burlesque dancer, don’t think Dita von Teese‘s debut dress collection comes with tear-away snaps or other strip-tease friendly details. In fact, the polished, ladylike line is the opposite of a Pussycat Doll costume: dresses and trench coats come in silk crepe, tulle, and chiffon and provide full coverage from the more demure shopper. Von Teese described her vintage-inspired line to Vogue UK:

I saw a very famous designer, who shall remain unnamed, in a vintage boutique in LA. He was there with his whole team and they were taking pictures for pieces to inspire his next collection. I just thought to myself: ‘There’s no reason why I couldn’t do that.’ Vintage stores are where I buy all my clothes – I love the thrill of the hunt.

Priced $350 to $995, the entire collection is being sold on Decades. Click through the slideshow above to shop it now.
