DIY Face Masks For Every Type of Skin: Dry, Acne-Prone, More

Taking care of your skin is always so important. However, between your face lotion, wash and scrub, it can get pricey, which means a $50 face mask is out of the question. Little did you know, you most likely have all of the ingredients you need to make your own face mask. Whether your skin is dry, oily, uneven, wrinkly or all of the above, we have the recipes you need to make your own face mask!

Acne Clearing Mask

The ingredients used in this face mask get rid of acne causing bacteria and help clear the skin. If you have extra sensitive skin, then skip the cinnamon and use turmeric instead. This face mask also helps lighten up acne scars.

Ingredients:

3 tbsp of honey

1/4 tsp of cinnamon

1/4 tsp of nutmeg

Directions:

Mix the ingredients in a bowl, spread the mask on your face and leave it on for 10-15 minutes before your rinse off. (rinse with warm water).

Dry Skin Mask

Honey is the key ingredient in this face mask. It helps retain moisture and is an anti-irrtant, which means it is great for sensitive skin and breakouts too!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup of uncooked oatmeal

1/2 cup of water

1/2 cup of milk

1 tablespoon of PURE honey (read the label and make sure!).

Directions:

In a small pot over medium heat, pour in all of the ingredients and let it cook for 5-6 minutes. Stir the mixture frequently with a spatula or a spoon. After time is up, allow the mixture to cool. Massage a thick layer of plain honey all over your clean face and neck before applying the mask. Once your mixture has cooled down, apply it to your face with upward strokes. Relax for 10-15 minutes while laying down. Remove and rinse the face mask using a soft facial wash cloth and warm water.

From Dull to Glow Mask

Although it may be gross thinking about putting a raw egg on your face, you won’t regret it when you do! Egg yolk contains mostly water and fats, which helps lock in moisture and get rid of dry flaky skin. The nutrients in egg yolks will leave your skin hydrated, nourished and glowing!

Ingredients:

1/4th ripe avocado

1 egg yolk

1 tsp of plain yogurt

Directions:

Mash the avocado into a small bowl. When the avocado is smooth, add the rest of the ingredients and mix. Apply the mixture to your face with clean fingertips, using circular upward motions. Let it sit for 15 minutes or until it dries completely. After the time is up, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.

Anti-Aging Mask

If you are suffering from premature wrinkles and lines or have aging skin, this is the mask for you! The 3 ingredients in this mask are antioxidants and natures Botox!

Ingredients:

1 tsp of olive oil

1 egg yolk

1 ripe bananna

Directions:

In a small bowl mash the banana up until you have a lump-free paste. Add the olive oil and egg yolk to the mix and stir together until it is smooth. Apply your mask to your clean face for 15 minutes or until it is dry. After the time is up, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel.
