Do You Have 'Smart Phone Neck'?!

You better think twice before sending that next emoji-filled text: experts are now saying that texting and web browsing on your cell phone can cause a terrifying condition called turkey neck or smart phone neck. The constantly-looking-down posture that is associated with smart phone browsing, checking e-mail, group texting, etc., actually causes the skin to become crepey, wrinkled and loose.

Sure, go ahead and look in the mirror to see if you have it. We’ll be here waiting.

Back? This is real, guys, and not an early April Fool’s joke: we just received a press release for neck lipo. According to the board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Robert Kratschmer, Botox injections, neck lifts and neck lipo are all viable options for curing the condition. Oh, and you can also try lasers, chemical peels and facials.

Not ready to go under the knife or local anesthesia? Just invest in a skin cream with vitamin A in it, which has a subtle skin-tightening effect, or try these at-home exercises to tighten-up neck flab. Or invest in a lot of scarves.
