The first thing that comes to mind when we think of off the shoulder tops is Kelly Kapowski. I mean, the girl seriously rocked the 90’s trend. But according to designers like Balmain, Balenciaga, Rodarte and Rosie Assoulin (the talented lady behind the top pictured above), exposing your clavicle is “in” once again.
This is actually amazing news if you hate the thought of wearing skin-bearing clothes–like crop tops and bralets. Those items force you to reveal your midriff and cleavage, which most of us girls aren’t the most comfortable with. Off-the-shoulder tops allow you to show some skin and keep a little mystery. Plus, if you really think about it, most people have good shoulders. So if you’re ready to revive this 80’s/90’s trend with a new sophisticated twist, check out our picks in the slideshow. Just make sure you don’t have any tan lines when wearing!
