It’s Earth Day! A global holiday to celebrate the wonder of life on our planet. So go out and enjoy the spring sun, romp with a pet, and plant a tree or a flower. Most people don’t realize that almost every choice we make impacts the environment, including our fashion and beauty products. In honor of Earth Day, here are a few tips for making your style eco-friendly:

Reduce Waste by buying clothing and accessories from companies that use recycled or repurposed materials. Shop `e ko logic or Coco’s Shoppe for clothes, Elle B. Style or Bakelite Bits for jewelry, Zappos or Used Rubber for bags, and Uncommon Goods for everything else.

Be kind to animals by choosing faux fur and leather alternatives. Buy a Camel Faux Suede Jacket or a Faux Leather Jacket, get shoes from OTSU or Alternative Outfitters, and check out bags from Quincy Audrianna Designs or Kara B.

Support ecology sustaining practices by buying organic. Get tees by Wrong Side or a hoody by Stewart+Brown, wear fabulous jeans from Loomstate, wash your hair with John Masters Organics Evening Primrose shampoo and your hands with Kiss My Face organic self foaming hand soap.

Finally, watch what you put down the drain. What washes off ends up in the water supply, so get products that are all natural. Use anything from Methodicon to clean your house, then clean your body with Perfect Organics body wash or Cinnamint Ecstasy soap from Everything Shea.
