In case you missed this week’s episode of Teen Mom, you missed a lot. In addition to finally moving to Florida with her daughter, Farrah also got a new puppy! Here’s what she has to say about the new dog, settling in in a new state and that blowup with her mother.
Why did you get so mad on the phone with your mom?
Sometimes I feel like my mom does not understand me or looks at things differently than I do and it really upsets me. Even though I’ve lived with her for 18 years, she still does not get where I’m coming from. I guess being misunderstood aggravates to me.
On the after show, you said in retrospect it would have been nice to have your dad move to Florida. Why would you want him there?
It’s nice to have my dad around not just to help me, but also because Sophia really enjoys her Grandpa’s attention. I feel like it would have been positive for both of us to have him live by me.
Did you have any regrets once you got the dog?
Oh my, training a bigger puppy now that Sophia is a toddler was constant cleaning. Looking at Stitch, our puppy, and Sophia is super cute, but we need to be realistic about responsibility.
What’s been the hardest part of being on your own in a new state with Sophia?
The hardest part of being on my own in a new state is finding quality new friends, as well quality reliable childcare. Without help, it’s hard for me to have alone time.
Is there anything you miss about living close to your family?
I think all parents would agree, the benefit of living close to your family is how helpful they are with watching your children when you have work or you need some free time.
Having lived in Florida on your own, is there any advice your parents gave that you wish you would have listened to?
My parents didn’t really give me much advice, except to not move to Florida. So in essence, I’ve learned a lot from moving and putting myself out there, some good, a lot bad. The real world away from home is hard, but I’m blessed to live through it and learn from it and be a great mom with a happy and healthy daughter.
