When booties first began to get popular, I despised them. What was the point of boot that only covered my foot? Isn't that just a shoe? Like most things, though, as I saw the bootie more and more, it began to grow on me. At first I thought maybe it wouldn't be so bad with trousers or bootcut pants. People would never know I had on a shoe posing as a boot. Now that I’ve seen some of the fall runways (this look's from Diane von Furstenberg) and the lookbooks are popping up online, I'm really starting to (dare I say) like booties with (of all things) skirts, dresses and skinnies.
If you're anything like I was, I'm sure you're probably shaking your head in disappointment. I was there, so I completely understand. It does look a little weird at first, but if you really examine the ensemble, you'll notice that a sexy shift or sheath dress plus an amazing bootie equals REALLY long legs. And who doesn’t want long legs? I’m only 5’4 so I need all the help I can get.
