As if it weren’t enough that both Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin decided to leave Fashion Police within mere weeks of one another, E! has now confirmed that the show will be going on hiatus until September. The official word is that the network wants to “[take] the opportunity to refresh the show before next awards season,” though it seems to come at a suspiciously convenient time, especially given the recent turmoil the show’s experienced on the heels of Giuliana Rancic‘s highly offensive comments about actress Zendaya‘s hair.

Both Rancic and Brad Goreski, as well as Executive Producer Melissa Rivers, are expected to return with the show in the fall, and the new season will have six or seven episodes centered around major events, including the 2015 Emmy Awards. No word yet on whether new talent will be added to the cast (sorry, Khloe Kardashian), but one thing’s for sure: this show will really never be the same after Joan Rivers‘ passing.
