Girl no. 1: "Once you hit a certain age you just shouldn't be allowed to wear stuff like that."
Girl no. 2: "Yeah, like, don't they have laws against that kind of thing? Indecent exposure or something?"
Girl no. 3: "They should. That woman is totally skeeving me out. Leave the mini-skirts to us young girls, Grandma!"
According to a recent UK survey (and some snot-nosed college girls who ripped apart a poor 30-something at a bar I was at), it's a crime to wear a mini skirt past the age of 28. That means Madonna, Cher, Salma Hayek (pre-preggers), Jennifer Garner, Eva Longoria and Halle Berry (she's 41!) just to name a few, shouldn't be allowed to wear minis, bikinis, tight jeans, tube tops or any other sort of "young people" clothes.
Uh, excuse me, but Halle is way hotter in her orange bikini than most 20-year-olds I've seen. And after all, isn't the real question not about how old you are, but whether or not you've got the body and demeanor to dress in such clothes? Take these two cases: Madge wore a purple Lyrca leotard and heels while dancing around a London stage at 40+ and looked fabulous. Amy Winehouse, tragically thin 24-year-old songstress, needs to put on some pants stat. I think the argument is pretty clear.
What do you think? When are you too old for a mini skirt? Is there a cut-off point for baring your bod in a bikini? Leave us a comment and let your voice be heard!
