Fashion Find: Stetson Isn't Just For Cowboys Anymore
January 23, 2008
Why: Stetson has long been synonymous with durability, craftsmanship, and the American West (and…uh… cheap cologne). However, no matter how much every girl loves herself a cowboy, ten gallon hats are not exactly city fare. Bret Michaels is the lone cowboy holdout, and he is just trying to keep his wig in place. But don't get me wrong, hats are hot this season. Almost every celebrity from Ashlee Simpson to Nicole Kidman has been sporting fedoras and newsboy caps. Functional and stylish, it's a great way to camouflage a bad hair day, hide from the stalkerazzi, or add some sass to a lazy day. However, the stiff price tag of Eugenia Kim toppers is prohibitive for those of us looking to get hatted on a budget. That is why Stetson's line of modern caps is such a find. For roughly half the price, (Stetson's fedoras range from $65 to around $135) you get all the millinary skill of an American classic with funds to spare. Just order a size medium in the men's varieties…unless you have a giant noggin like me and need the extra overhead.
