Fashion Top Five: Low-High-Heeled Work Shoes
August 6, 2008
There’s nothing worse than getting to the office in a spectacular pair of new pumps, and dreading your trips to the bathroom/newsstand/conference room more and more as the day wears on. Uncomfortable shoes are actually not as terrible on a night out as they are at the office. You can have an extra cosmo, sit out that last song, and take a cab home – at work, nobody’s going to give you a piggy back to your next meeting.
We found five pairs of work-appropriate heels at the very reasonable heights of 2” – 2 ½”. And because we know you won’t settle for anything less, they actually look like heels, not like grandma’s flats with a little lift.
Paired with covered-up work wear, these snakeskin slingbacks ($79) are completely office-appropriate.
The indispensable black pump ($89), made partially of stretchy fabric for added comfort; with a shape this streamlined, we don’t think it’s in the same category as elastic-waist jeans.
These Seychelles peep toe pumps ($94) have an appearing vintage vibe that’s very on-point for fall.
Delman’s Half D’Orsay pumps ($295) are exceedingly glamorous, with a substantial stacked heel.
Grey is the go-to color for fall, which makes these Nine West Vaserlin peep toes ($90) perfect for transitioning into September.
