Beauty Find: Flawless...and My Apartment is Cleaner, Too
May 11, 2005
Spring is here, and that means full-on reviews of self tanning products. There’s a new kid on the block called Flawless Sunless Tanning System, and we gave it a test run as soon as it hit our mailbox.
Here’s the deal. Flawless offers a pre tan exfoliator, tanning lotions (in dark and natural shades) an extender. The difference between these products and others on the market is that they also offer a black light that you use to make sure that you’ve covered all areas of your body. It is exactly what it says — a wand with a black light.
The tanning products, on their own, are perfectly good, and I had a nice, healthy, orange-less tan when I used the product. But I couldn’t help wondering why they would not just use a color guide for the product, because here’s what really happens with the black light: I found myself more interested in finding unclean areas of my apartment (the black light shows you where there is dirt and other gross stuff that I won’t mention here, so think hotel expose on a TV news show) than where my tanning lotion landed. Flawless left me tan, but it also made me do a lot of laundry.
