Yup, that’s right. Plastic flowers. When Dolce & Gabbana first introduced their embellished baroque sunglasses ($385), we’ll be honest–we weren’t convinced. At almost $400, we weren’t quite willing to drop big bucks on glasses that kind of reminded us of the ones we rocked when we were six.

But now it seems mass retailers–think Urban Outfitters and ASOS–have caught on and are selling their own versions of the fun, floral embellished shades in a much wallet-friendly $20-$40 range. So at just $20, yeah we’ll bite. And you should, too! This year’s floral sunglasses are perfect for summer music festivals, outdoor happy hours, and (sigh) lounging by the pool (just a few more months!). Chances are, when the trend dies you’ll have lost or broken the $20 pair of shades to even care all that much.

Shop the D&G sunnies that started it all, plus some affordable lookalikes, in the slideshow!
