Why: Fragrance is a very personal thing, one that only you can judge to know whether or not it suits you. Still, I’ll try and give at least an insight as to why I think this perfume has what it takes to make it into your fragrance collection.
For me, scent almost always has to have an association to something positive in my life; a moment in time I remember from my youth, weekends spent with family, a great first date — you get the picture. Alabaster, in all its headiness isn’t a sparkling perfume, but a warm, pretty, intensely floral scent that reminds me of a garden in full bloom during the heat of summer. Although, you should remember that it’s an EDP, so it’s a bit heavier, and thus I wouldn’t recommend it for summer as it’s a bit too intense. The slightly clean element over the heavy florals really makes it better for the early days of spring — those days when you catch yourself sticking your nose out to smell the flowers for the first time after a long winter.
It’s comforting, rich in lotus with a touch of rose and barely a bit of musk towards the dry down. If this imagery entrances you, you’ll love this scent. If not, keep in mind that the lovely natural wood packaging and uniquely shaped teardrop bottle make for an ideal gift.
