Call it ignorance or just plain obliviousness, but aside from the oh-so-popular GO initiative, I never really looked to Target for fashion finds. It's not that I have anything against the retailer — I actually really like them due in large part to their catchy commercials — it's just not one of my go-to stores. I happened to be browsing the website a few days ago, though, (admittedly in hopes of spotting some Loeffler Randall for pre-sale) and was pleasantly surprised. Not because I found what I was looking for, but even better: fashion-forward items on the cheap! Maybe I am just the last one to get the memo on Target's apparel, but I had to share. Check out these five ripped-from-runway styles — all under $40!
3-Button Baby Doll Cardigan Sweater ($23): This sweet little number conveniently combines several trends into one chic sweater. The empire waist, chunky knit, big buttons and bright hue are right on target. It also comes in gray, this season's "it" color.
Matte Jersey Scoopneck Dress ($30): The pleating on this dress is perfect for masking a problem midsection. The low scoop neckline just begs for a necklace (may we suggest one of these), pair with some sexy heels and the look is complete.
Patent Mary Jane Pumps ($20): Most people (myself included) would be a little wary of a silver pump, let alone a silver patent one. But at $20, take a chance and jump on-board the metallic mania with these sassy Mary Janes.
Godet Pleated Skirt ($30): At first glance this skirt looks like your classic pencil, but turn around and the back features flattering pleats. For all you career women, this is definitely a must-have.
Box Clutch ($15): How fun is the bold, blue bag? Your back deserves a break as does your oversized purse, so tote this glam clutch around for nights out on the town. The red one is also very, well, hot.
