Sarah Jessica Parker is all over town doing promotions for the Sex and the City 2. Whether the movie itself will be any good is of less importance than the bevy of amazing clothes that will be on display throughout the film. Though you’ll have to wait until May 27 for the premiere, SJP is already killing it on the promotions circuit. Just this week, she showed off three fabulous looks that prove that Carrie Bradshaw lives on. Here’s how to get her top three looks of the week.
Yellow, sparkles, and an asymmetrical neckline–looks like a classic Carrie Bradshaw out on the town outfit to us. SJP proves that she is one of the sexiest Hollywood moms out there in this yellow Lanvin look straight from the runway. Not to mention the metal platforms on her blush pink pumps, which have us drooling like we were in shoe heaven.
Don’t be afraid to mismatch with a bright yellow dress and nude pumps (black ones will make you look like a bumblebee). Follow SJP’s lead with a yellow asymmetrical dress that ties over one shoulder, by BCBG Max Azria ($248). Like the platform detailing on SJP’s shoes, these Trinitie pumps by Steve Madden ($80) are perfect.
We haven’t seen SJP dress this much like her alter-ego Carrie in quite some time, and we love it. This Marchesa party dress, includes playful elements like stars and tulle.
The last time you owned a dress with stars on it may have been in middle school, but there are modern dresses that make star detailing look gaze-worthy fore very age. This Rory Beca dress ($187.50) is more cocktail appropriate than SJP’s red carpet creation, allowing for subtle star detailing and a flattering bustier design. Let this dress do all the talking with minimal accessories, and tall patent leather platform pumps by Kenneth Cole ($244.95).
At the after party for the launch of her Heritage line for Halston, SJP went with the new line’s purple sheath and a tuxedo blazer by Marchesa. The combination of an oversized jacket with a tight and short dress makes the outfit functional in a dressy atmosphere, and practical for a club setting, once the blazer is removed.
This look is nearly identical to SJP’s, except it’s only a fraction of the price. This Nanette Lepore wind-swept dress ($348) and French Connection tuxedo jacket ($148) appear simple apart, but combined create contrasting fabric textures and an overall breezy style that looks as effortless as it was to put on.
