On Friday, we joined Kim Kardashian, The City’s Whitney Port and Sex and The City 2’s Mario Cantone at the beauty biz’s version of the Oscars – the 2010 Cosmetic Executive Women Beauty Awards. We found out which of our favorite products were named winners, ie. the best facial cream, acne treatment, lipstick and everything in between. End the beauty guesswork and get these products before they fly off the shelves.
Best Lip Product
Not only does Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain ($46) come in incredible colors with a rich, creamy texture – but the design of the bottle itself is super chic. The mirrored top and snap-close bottle won the best lip product of the year.
Best Anti-Aging Product
Everyone I know who tries this product swears by it – no wonder it took home the big prize. If you’re feeling antsy about aging, try Lancôme Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate ($84).
Best Eye Treatment
Roll-on products are perfect for the gentle eye area – they don’t pull skin, which prevents pesky wrinkles. It’s no wonder Olay Regenerist Anti-Aging Eye Roller ($18.39) was named the best eye treatment in the drugstore category – it actually works.
Best Hair Care Product
I’m always on the lookout for great shampoos and conditioners for color-treated hair, and recently became obsessed with this L’Oréal Paris EverPure Sulfate-Free Color Care Moisture Shampoo ($11.98). The sulfate-free products don’t strip the hair’s natural oils, which results in a soft and silky mane.
Best Facal Moisturizer
Another great roll-on product, the Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Awakening Face Massager ($12.99) is like Starbucks for your skin – take a few minutes to massage or roll it on, and your skin will look brighter, and more “awake.”
Best Women’s Scent
It’s not just the bottle that is sweet and pretty – the scent of Coty Prestige Lola Marc Jacobs ($85) is delicious and girly, too. In the crowded perfume market, it’s a big deal to win the CEW in this category.
Best Sun Product
What most of us need is an oil-free sunscreen that provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection and doesn’t look greasy on the skin. Look no further – Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunblock Lotion SPF 60+ with PureScreen™ ($10.99) is the perfect product – and at a drugstore price.
Best Acne Treatment
Not only does this La Roche Posay Effaclar AI Intensive Acne Spot Treatment ($29.00) fight acne (it contains both salicylic acid with benzoyl peroxide – a serious duo), but it also reduces post break-out skin discoloration.
Best Eye Makeup
Veteran drugstore beauty shoppers can attest to how many great eye cosmetics are on the market under $10. The CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast ($8.49) is the perfect example.
