Last year, in an effort to elevate fashion in the depths of the recession, Anna Wintour spearheaded “Fashion’s Night Out,” (look, she’s wearing a t-shirt!) with a ton of events around New York City during fashion week: stores were bursting with crowds–and even Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen got in the spirit, and bartended at Bergdorf Goodman (see photo, below right). This September 10, the event will include cities around the U.S., so don’t feel left out, L.A., Dallas, and even Georgetown. Here are the top 3 highlights:
1. On Sept. 7, Vogue will stage the world’s largest public fashion show, which will take place at Lincoln Center, and no doubt will be the talk of the town for quite some time. Get tickets here starting Wednesday–and for those of you in other parts of the world, watch the live stream at 7pm on Sept. 7.
2. American Express launches an exclusive campaign Aug. 30. Register here and shopaholics will get a $100 credit when they spend $500 at Diane von Furstenberg, Tory Burch, and others.
3. This year, 1,000 retailers across the country will taking part in Fashion’s Night Out, offering discounts, special events and concerts.
