If one thing is clear after last night’s episode of Mad Men, it’s that Peggy doesn’t get enough playtime. Some Peggy fans (and maybe die-hard West Wing fans, who just can’t let go) may feel that she often gets the shaft in favor of more glamorous Mad women.
Indeed, Joan did look lovely in green last night and Betty Draper’s cowl neck floral dresses were to die for, but on this week’s show, Peggy’s clothes were the real scene-stealer.
Her chic office look – tie neck blouse with high-waisted skirt – was popular in the 1960s and then recycled in the 80s by fashion-forward business women (think Melanie Griffith in Working Girl). Now, it’s back and many designers are creating modernized versions of this classic blouse.
Try an updated design like this Tracy Reese blouse ($345, available for pre-order) that features a floral pattern apt for fall or this ultra-girly silk top from Banana Republic ($70).
