Here’s the 411:

Last night, we attended the launch party for Giambattista Valli’s Impulse line, held at none other than Macy’s Herald Square. In addition to stalking Jessica Stam (#girlcrush), we also checked out the merch and took notes so you’ll know what to order immediately at, and what to skip altogether.

The key things to buy from the Giambattista Valli for Macy’s line are the basics: the chiffon shirts, silk blouses, colorful party dresses and rosette mini skirts.

To be avoided on the other hand, are some of the leopard pieces—which I was originally excited about from pictures, but noticed had an iridescent/glittery sheen in person. If you think you can pull off leopard pants, more power to you! But I’d stick to the colorful staples like Jessica Stam’s pink cocktail dress (pictured below).

If last night’s party were a key to the success of the line, then we’d say it’s definitely poised to be a heavy hitter. Check it out for yourself at

While you’re at it, be sure to read up on the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection (which is still in stores btw), or look back at Kinder Aggugini’s Macy’s line.
