Good Question: Shapewear for a Low-Rise, Backless Halter Dress

From a Reader: Help! I need some shaper gear to wear under my high school reunion dress. It is DEEP PLUNGE, HALTER, BACKLESS, EXTRA LOW RISE. Problem: deep plunge halter bras have backs and mid-thigh shapers are high-waisted.

Answer: Oh, the trauma of looking drop-dead gorgeous for a reunion! We want you to look ravishing, so we asked our good friends at Bare Necessities to help us out and find the best styles for the dress. We hope this helps!

LZ Up Free Clear Back BraOn top we suggest an adhesive bra, like this Fashion Forms Nu Bra Ultralite Backless Bra ($32, left). These suction-style, stick-on bras give you coverage so you don't have to worry about show-through, some shape and a little bit of support. Best of all, they're completely backless. They'll work for an A to D cup and can be used over and over.

If you need more support, though, and your dress is low enough in the back, you might consider this LZ Up Free Clear Back Bra ($85, right). Thanks to the low cut and clear strap, you get shape, support and stability up to a 38D.

Spanx Hip-NoticOn the bottom, head to the Spanx counter. The Spanx Hip-notic Low Rise Footless Pantyhose Panty Hose ($26) style is your best bet. It will smooth out the bulges from knee to hip and suck you in until you're a spitting image of a red carpet starlet.
