From a Reader: I will be married in August and need some help finding a good strapless bra to wear under my wedding dress. I am about a C/D cup with a 36-inch bust. Something that gives pretty good support but is still comfortable would be best! ~ Alina

Answer: Shopping for bras is not easy, much less trying to find a supportive strapless bra — that’s practically an oxymoron. To avoid getting a bra that will resemble a belt in 15 minutes, be sure to choose something one size smaller than you would normally, either in the cup or the circumference. Since it’s your wedding we’re talking about, it wouldn’t hurt to go get a professional bra fitting. If you order online or shop in-store, always test the bra. Put it on with your dress if you’re able to and jump around in it, making sure it doesn’t slip down.

As far as products go, one readers suggested the Le Mystère L’image Sculptural Strapless Push-up Bra, which would be a good choice, and the Fashion Forms Nu Bra Divine Body Bra. Although the Nu Bra is revered as being one of the best, it might not be great for someone more well endowed, like yourself. Instead try the following: the Dominique Seamless Strapless Bra, the Felina Hint Of Skin Strapless Bra or the Le Mystère Dream Shameless Contour Strapless Bra. If you don’t mind wearing a longline bra that adds support while slimming the tummy, try the Goddess Lace Longline Underwire Bra (also recommended by a user) or the Dominique Longline Lace Torsolette Bra.
