Okay, so you’ve opened all the gifts and chances are your kids are currently playing with or wearing most of them. But in every household, there are those few gifts sitting in the corner, waiting to be… returned.
Yes, we know you did a fantastic job shopping this season, but occasionally the shoes don’t fit or you got the wrong edition of Mario Brothers. When that happens, returns and exchanges are inevitable. If you were smart, you shopped at one of the stores below that has a really amazing return policy, but if not Consumer World has the scoop on holiday return policies at a bunch of different stores.
So before you head to any stores to stand in endless return lines or start packing up the return boxes, read these return policies first. (And check out some suggestions for what you should get instead.)
ToysRUs.com: Online purchases can be returned within 90 days by mail for a refund of the price of the item and any applicable taxes. Items must be returned in new, or like-new, condition, in its original packaging, and with all paperwork including manuals, assembly instructions and your packing slip. Shipping costs will not be refunded unless the item is being returned because it is damaged or defective.
UGGAustralia.com: Free returns on any items ordered before 1/1/11. A Free return label will be included with your order. The Free returns offer only applies to orders placed between 9/13/10 and 1/1/11.
Zappos.com: Use the self-service return process (via My Account) to print out a free return label. You can return your purchase for up to 365 days from the purchase date as long as it’s in the same condition you received it in.
