Leave it to Jessica Simpson to keep it real. The pregnant singer recently took to Twitter to talk about…farting. Call it flatulence, gas, or passing wind, whatever you call it, it’s just one more thing you can add to the list of things to look forward to when you’re pregnant. What sorts of things? Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?
Morning Sickness: I was sick my first trimester with my daughter, and the nausea and vomiting wasn’t just in the morning. It was actually worse at night, and my son even came up with a name for it: night sick. Poor guy would run to my husband and tell him, “Mama has night sick again!”
Mood Swings: Let’s just say I cried over pizza this one time…and the wrong sheets my husband brought back from IKEA. I was a little nutty for both my pregnancies, laughing hysterically at one thing and then crying my eyes out the next. Drama. Queen.
Heartburn: It always felt like I had something stuck in my chest after eating a meal, making it hard to breathe, and I was never too far away from my beloved TUMS.
Sleepless Nights: From the middle-of-the-night, non-stop trips to the bathroom, to the carpal tunnel syndrome that was so bad I wanted to saw off my hands, it was difficult to get a good night’s sleep. But at least it prepared me for the sleepless nights after the kids were born.
But even with these annoying side effects, I would gladly do it all over again to have a happy, healthy baby. The nine months go by fast, anyway.
