In fashion and bridal we often take cues from blockbuster movies and Hollywood starlets….this year Natalie Portman in Black Swan is no different. I predict that ballet inspired and the use of feathers (black, white or colored) will be very strong in the upcoming season.

Here are some outrageous and some subdued ways that you can incorporate Ballerina style and/ or feathers into your wedding:

For the bold bride who loves feathers but still wants to be the White Swan, check out what Monique Lhuillier has in mind for 2011.

When it comes to veils, I love birdcage veils and am thrilled they are coming back into fashion. If you’d like just a touch of feather (either white swan or black) consider this Annie Bridal French Net & Feather Hair Fascinator ($226) or White Satin & Feather Birdcage Veil ($55).

You’ll have ‘stuff’ to carry on your big day no matter how big your bridal party is. I love that you don’t have to actually hold this Ivory Ostrich Feather Purse ($69) and you’ll get a so subtle touch of opulence.

If décor is the way you’d like to incorporate this opulent embellishment consider a centerpiece like this one instead of traditional flowers (available through Swank Productions).

And for the cutest was to include this trend….consider turning your flower girls into little ballerinas with this adorable tutu ($10.95, down from $14) sure to get tons of ooh’s and ahh’s as they drop petals down the aisle.

Whatever way you choose to incorporate your love for ballet & feathers know this — by incorporating this design trend, your event will not only be chic, but incredibly unique!
