SheFinds Guilty Pleasure: Cheap Jewelry
January 27, 2008
I have a confession to make: I adore cheap jewelry. I know, I know…at this point in my life, I should probably be investing in nicer pieces, but I just can't tear myself away from the bargain basement stuff. Even when my husband gives me something nice, I tend to stash it away somewhere safe and continue wearing the $5 junk instead.
What gives? Well, there's the problem that, when I do wear something nice, I spend more time worrying about losing it than I do showing it off. And then there's fact that so many cheapy retailers make beautiful, affordable baubles that I have a hard time splurging on something that costs ten times as much. Here are a few picks that will have you joining the ranks of tightwads like me.
A pair of hoop earrings ($3) should be in every woman's repertoire. At this price, you can get a pair in both gold and silver for less than the cost of your lunch.
Oversized rings are all the rage. This Wood Morocco Ring ($12) will add some bohemian flair to any outfit without putting a dent in your fashion budget.
Shopping an already inexpensive store's sale section can really turn up some great deals. This Urban Outfitters carved bangle (was $16, now $10) wasn't expensive to start, but now it's a real steal.
