The beginning of the new year is the best time to switch up your hairstyle. New year, new me, right? Well, Hailey Baldwin seems to think so! She recently dyed her hair watermelon pink and the color looks gorgeous on her! The color is not quite a millennial pink, but more of a cross between neon pink and an intensely pigmented strawberry-blonde. “The interesting thing about Baldwin’s new color is that it’s actually pretty two-tone, and while that’d look out-there with two different colors, sticking within the pink family, it looks gorgeous,” Glamour reported.
The 21-year-old supermodel kicked off New Year’s Day in Miami, revealing her new, daring hair color on her Instagram account with the watermelon emoji as the caption. As you can see, Baldwin didn’t go all-out pink. The look is subtle, with more of a golden blonde base with streaks of pink that start out highly pigmented and then fade as you get down to the ends.
On Jan. 2, 2018, Baldwin showed off her new hair-do in a series shameless #nomakeup mirror selfies. Move over, millennial pink, there’s a new pink hair color in town!
But this isn’t Baldwin’s first time rocking pink hair. She posted this selfie with a Snapchat filter to her Instagram last year in May. Baldwin’s fans, which include over 11 million Instagram followers, love her gorgeous pink hair.
Taking it back even further, Hailey sported a pink, high ponytail in Nov. 2016!
So it’s clear that Hailey Baldwin isn’t afraid of an adventurous hair transformation. She’s obviously a huge fan of watermelon pink hair–and so are other celebrities! In fact, Gigi Hadid had dyed her hair watermelon-pink around this time last year. “The look was created by Evo Media Ambassador Kenna Kennor, who used Fabuloso Pro to create the “blorange” masterpiece on Gigi in New York,” Elle reported. But how did Hailey Baldwin get her watermelon-pink tone? According to Glamour, Baldwin’s hot pink locks were achieved by using temporary-color hair product. “Baldwin’s dabbled in temporary colored mousse for a single-use change, so there’s no telling how long her pink will stick around. The model’s known for her buttery blond color, but with the amount of intrigue she’s brought to pink, we’re hoping it sticks around,” Glamour reports.
It’s only January and we’ve seen tons of food-inspired hair trends like Gingerbread Latte hair, Marshmallow hair, and Mulled Wine hair. Do you think watermelon pink will be the next big hair trend of 2018? Let us know in the comments below!
