“Everglow” is the new song off Coldplay’s upcoming album A Head Full Of Dreams (available December 3) that Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin collaborated together. Considering that Paltrow and Martin are “consciously uncoupled” (the phrase the two have coined to describe their separation), we have to wonder if this collaboration was intentional before or post-breakup.
Martin shared with The Wall Street Journal how the song is, “a ballad about a relationship’s enduring spark”.
Some of the lyrics to the song read, “Well they say people come/Say people go/This particular diamond/Is extra special/And though you might be gone/And the world may not know/Still I see you’re celestial.”
Paltrow isn’t the only unexpected collaboration in this upcoming album. The album includes a track with Martin and Paltrow’s two children, Moses and Apple, a part of a choir in several of the tracks. Also, Martin’s current girlfriend, Annabelle Wallis, is featured in one of the songs.
Martin’s explanation to these pairings is, “Everyone who got asked to sing on our album has an important part in our lives…I don’t want to get too hippie, but what I’m trying to learn in my life is the value of every human.”
